Nutritional Smoothies: Berry Blast Superfood Smoothie
Nutritional smoothies are a great way to get some superfoods into your body. This blackberry blast nutritional smoothies recipe is like you’re drinking a liquid blackberry creamsicle AND it comes spiked with powerful antioxidant superfoods to give you and your body a health kick.
I looked at tons of nutritional smoothies and berry blast smoothie recipes — so many have way too much sugar or fat or are unbalanced with little fiber and protein. This berry blast smoothie recipe is a nutritional smoothie with delicious blackberries (use others if you prefer) and with a combination of powerful superfoods that help to balance the protein, fats and good carbs needed for a good breakfast or good nutrition smoothie.
Berry Blast Superfood – A Nutritional Smoothies Recipe
1 cup purified or coconut water
1/2 – 3/4 cup fresh or frozen organic blackberries (I like frozen becuase it makes it cold)
1 or more cups baby organic spinach
1/4 nice ripe avocado
1/2 tsp good cinnamon (optional)
1 tsp chia seeds
1 – 2 scoops plant based protein powder (I used Nutrimeal Free)
Ice cubes for desired coldness
Blend all together in a blender. (Use 2 scoops of protein powder and 2 cups spinach to make if a more filling meal.) Blend in ice to make it colder. (A little honesty here, the color may be more green but truthfully, many of you won’t look at a recipe that doesn’t look enticing and this one definetly does don’t you think 🙂 )
Enjoy a quick berry blast nutritional smoothie for breakfast or anytime for a meal. Have 1/2 of one for a healthy, filling snack (store other 1/2 in mason jar in refrigerator for later).
Make it a mixed berry smoothie by adding fresh or frozen blueberries, strawberries or raspberries.
