The Top 7 Tips I Tell All My Weight Loss Clients
Stop Dieting and Start Eating.
When you stop ‘dieting’ and start eating the right foods, the weight can drop off fast. Dieting has you focus on giving up food and eating right is the opposite. Find some healthy basics and plan ahead. Make a batch of roasted vegetables, cauliflower rice, grilled chicken on Sundays and use to make a variety of different meals throughout the week.
Move It Move It.
You can’t exercise yourself out of a bad diet but it can help release the pounds and is great for your overall health too. Get some form of movement and exercise everyday:walk 20-30 minutes even if you have to do 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night, walk in place at your desk or get up and dance to commercials at home (you don’t have to be good at it at home 🙂 ).
Hire a Coach.
The best sports players, business people, athletes, investors, actors/actresses and community leaders all have a coach and many more than one. If your weight isn’t where you want it to be or you’re stuck at a plateau, get yourself a personal health coach who will share their expertise and support you to get to your ideal weight. Whether with one-on-one coaching, a group program or with online coaching, the cost is minimal compared to the results you can see. Contact me and we can put a success plan in place for you.
Eat ‘Fast Foods’.
Find a good low -glyclemic meal replacement shake & protein bar so you always have quick, balanced meals and protein snacks handy. Having a meal replacement smoothie for breakfast is a great way to start the day especially if you skip more than you have in a week. Shake it and take it in the car on the way to work or the office, it’s so much better than greasy drive through or skipping all together. Filling your desk drawer and purse with a high protein snack bar can make or break what you eat when you finally sit down at a meal – you simply haven’t starved yourself and therefore you are less likely to ‘pig out’. My recommendation are USANA Nutrimeal and Protein Snacks.
Supplement Your Diet.
Some studies show that taking a good multivitamin can actually help you lose weight. By nourishing your body with a quality multivitamin, some have reported feeling less hungry and therefore eat less. It is also the best ‘health insurance’ you can have. Take a quality multivitamin like those from USANA Health Sciences.
Step Away From The Scale.
Get off the scale and stop weighing yourself. Although you want to lose weight, the scale can be your worse enemy. Focus on eating right, how you feel, and how your clothes are fitting. Don’t add stress to your life by weighing yourself everyday; instead weigh yourself once a week
Drink Water.
Yes this is always on the list and for good reason. Hunger is often confused with dehydration. Even mild dehydration can alter our body’s metabolism, so aim to drink 8 glasses a day and limit soda, caffeine and alcohol. It is also agreed that drinking water 30 minutes before meals can help promote weight loss. One study found that participants who drank 2 glasses of water before each meal felt fuller and ate less.
