Easy Grilled Avocados Recipe
Fire up the grill and sear some ripe avocados for the unexpected with this grilled avocados recipe – an easy recipe + real treat during a summer cookout. (Not outside grilling right now, you can also use this for a baked avocado recipe too.)
Ingredients
- 2 ripe, fresh Hass Avocados, seed removed
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lime or lemon juice
- Olive oil or cooking spray
- Sea salt to taste
- Fresh ground pepper to taste
How to Grill Avocados Recipe
- Cut avocado in half and remove seed with a spoon.
- Drizzle with fresh lime or lemon juice and brush lightly with olive oil. (omit if you are oil free)
- Gently place cut side down on grill for 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Eat plain or fill with fresh chopped veggies or your favorite salsa. See Great Options + Toppings below.
Serving Suggestions
Create an grilled avocados recipe bar by putting out seasonings and filling options in bowls with serving spoons, that way guests can customize their grilled half shell to their taste – much like a taco or sundae bar.
Great Options + Toppings:
- Add a little cheese and have grilled avocados with melted parm. cheese or sliced Buffalo mozzarella or crumbled feta cheese as garnish sprinkled with lime
- Top with fresh diced basil or cilantro as garnish
- Make a grilled avocado sandwich
- Add grilled or baked avocados to a salad.
- Top with 1/2 cup fresh chopped tomatoes, pico de gallo or your favorite salsa
Note: Large avocados are recommended . A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust how many you use accordingly.
