Like most people at this time of year, you’re always reassessing your life, looking at where you are with your health and weight and where you set goals to be.  And again like most, you want to make more positive changes. You are continuing to give yourself a fresh opportunity to refocus your health and wellness goals (woohoo and good for you for not giving up) – and I want to help.

Here are 3 simple weight loss tips + a green tea lemonade recipe you’ll love to drink this summer.

1. Eat Good Food

Eating the right foods can help reduce bloating. What are the right foods? I bet you already know they are lots of vegetables and fruits. Foods like cucumbers, papaya, ginger, asparagus, and pineapple are great for keeping bloating at bay.

2. Avoid Bad Fats

There are many types of fats and some are very important and necessary for our bodies. But there are some fats that are very dangerous and can make it difficult to lose weight. Visceral fat is found deep under your squishy fats. It is created when you eat too much garbage food that are high in sugar and refined flours.

A great tip I learned from Dr. Oz is to add blood sugar stabilizing spices to your meals. Cinnamom, cloves, oregano, cayenne or turmeric are flavorful and can help burn away the dangerous fats.

3. Drink Green Tea

Green tea has great benefits for our health and releasing weight by boosting your metabolism. The active compounds in green tea can aid in this process by boosting the effects of some fat burning hormones. Adding a couple squeezes of lemon juice adds additional natural antioxidants, and that can only do you good.

Green Tea Lemonade

2 cups hot to warm water
1 high quality green tea bag, I like Republic of Tea
1/2 fresh lemon, squeezed

Add tea bag, let it steep for 3-4 minutes. Remove tea bag, add ice to cool it down, squeeze the lemon, stir and enjoy!
