Do you have a case of the UGLIES?

I am sitting with a cup a tea getting ready to support people who are ready to reduce the toxins in their body and the inflammation it causes using my Lean & Clean Fall Cleanse Detox, and I’m being reminded of the problems that inflammation can create in our lives (not just our bodies). Many studies are showing that inflammation in our body is behind many modern diseases like cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc. It is also the leading cause of  what i call THE UGLIES –  the tired look, the weight gain, the drab skin, the dull hair, the breakouts, the sparkle-less eyes, the bloated face & body, the lack of energy, the mood swings- you know what I am talking about.

It’s true!

Even though inflammation is a natural defense mechanism against infection or injury, there is the ‘evil side’ to it too. We are assaulted daily with toxins in our food, our skin & cleaning products even the water and air we breathe. Our bodies and cells are in a constant battle. With stress and poor food choices this puts us in an ongoing state of inflammation – and it is simply bad news for every part of our health and we look and feel. 

The science and research evidence is pretty clear that inflammation is linked to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and many other chronic, degenerative disease. It’s very clear to science & beauty experts agree that our bodies reflect on the outside what is going on inside. Haven’t you heard someone tell you “you look tired” or ask “do you feel ok” after a weekend (or week) of poor food choices?

If we want to impact our health, our aging, our waist size and get rid of the UGLIES, we must understand our toxicity and inflammation.

So how do we get this inflammation?

Here are just a few of them:

  1. Stress: The emotional stress we feel from everyday life – job, marriage, financial and from just living – air, food, cleaning products, etc.
  2. Lack of Movement: The way we are living our lives today in a chair, on the couch, in a car catching up with us.
  3. Lack of Good Restorative Sleep: Not getting good and restorative sleep wreaks havoc on us more than just being tired and without energy.
  4. The Big Bad White Granules called Refined Sugar: But it tastes so good! (And just remember that refined carbs like white bread turns to sugar in your blood.)
  5. An Oversized Waistline (aka Obesity): For the average person, dropping even a few pounds can make all the difference.
